Kaplan-Meier curves were used to estimate the time to increase in the number of positive items in category A of the Delirium Screening Tool (DST) over 7 days. The log rank test (Mantel-Cox) as well as hazard ratio with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to compare the two survival curves. (P = 0.05; hazard ratio, 0.27; 95% confidence interval, 0.10–0.75)
